Many Independence, MO residents are upset by the increased electricity bills. They are being brushed off by Independence Power & Light, and they are poorly equipped to handle their self-inflicted customer service fiasco. 

We want an investigation into IPL, we want to be sure that the meter readings are accurate, that the surcharges are fair and legal, and that the new billing system is transparent at all points in the process. 

Did your electric bill double, triple, or quadruple in June of 2018? Did the electric company brush you off and tell you that it was all due to "heat wave," even though this hike perfectly coincides with the roll-out of their new billing platform?
