During the upcoming legislative season, AAIM will be working to pass Senator Angela Hill's improved animal cruelty law. Because of the extreme lobbying of the Farm Bureau in Mississippi, this law pertains only to dogs and cats however, AAIM needs your support to start getting better animal cruelty laws in Mississippi accomplished overall.
Please stand behind AAIM on their call to Action, let's get this ball rolling! Click here http://usecalltoaction.com and follow the instructions.
As you are aware AAIM and IDA worked tirelessly to try and help shut down the barbaric Rabbit Scramble in MS. Please understand this Cause is Not over and the animal cruelty laws need updated in this state for change to happen.
FYI
Arguments arise that domestic rabbits are not protected under the Animal Welfare Act. Are you aware that APHIS does not classify domestic rabbits as livestock?
SNIP
"Since they are not classified as livestock, rabbits are exempted from USDA inspections on slaughter. Grades for rabbit meat were removed in 1995. However, they are protected under the Animal Welfare Act that requires that all individuals or businesses dealing with rabbits must be licensed or registered with APHIS".

This is a constant misconception and the domestic rabbits we love deserve better protection. Lets help start the ball rolling to end abuse of all sentiment beings.
Thank you for your continued support,
For The Rabbits,
Linda Sue
