The good news: the rabbits were not dangled by their ears.  The Bad news: Proper handling was not taught to the children or adults - as witnessed in the video and photos. http://causes.worldpeacemeet.com/causes/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Tippah-County-Fair-makes-efforts.pdf The rabbits were terrified, kicked, dropped (some more than once) hung by their necks, hung by improper dangling under front legs while severely kicking and trying to escape, all before being shoved into small boxes with no air holes, with some boxes being held shut by children. Accuweather.com states the temperature in Ripley MS on Aug 11, 2016 was 90 degrees. http://causes.worldpeacemeet.com/causes/rabbit-causes/tippah-scramble-2016/

Several telephone calls were made to Sheriff Karl Gaillard's office, (per his dispatcher) he stated that "if animal cruelty was going on at the fair, people would be arrested". SHERIFF KARL GAILLARD BROKE THAT PROMISE. According to WTVA News, Tippah County Attorney Sean Akins released the following statement regarding the rabbit scramble. "The Fair Association has put measures in place that are intended to permit the children to enjoy the event while protecting the animals. Fair officials will demonstrate the proper way to hold and carry the rabbits prior to the event. Animal Board of Health "While the Animal Board of Health in Jackson has advised fair organizers to instruct children on how to hold the rabbits". PROMISE BROKEN http://www.idausa.org/60000-join-animal-welfare-groups-halt-illegal-rabbit-scramble-tippah-county-fair/ While we appreciate the changes at the fair, this cruel event is still unlawful and extremely abusive to the rabbits and other animals. New complaints will be filed and updates posted.
