A Peaceful Protest Scheduled to Help STOP domestic rabbits from being chased and terrorized by a mob of screaming children. Small children have little to no understanding of how animals as vulnerable as rabbits should be handled. Rabbits are preyed-on animals, which must be able to flee and run rapidly. Their limbs are therefore powerful, while their skeleton is light. A rabbits spine and limbs are thus more prone to fracture in rabbits, as compared to other animals. Fractures and other injuries are often caused by improper handling or dropping and the shock or stress of being chased and mishandled can cause shock or heart attacks. Terrified rabbits are literally seen running for their lives then dangled by their ears, backs or throats while frantically trying to escape. These cruel acts are taught to innocent children by adults. Frightened rabbits kick, bite and scratch to escape what they believe is danger, some children are seen crying but made to participate. According to Mississippi State Statute 97-41-5, the scramble should be illegal, based on the handling practices alone: "If any person shall carry, or cause to be carried by hand or in or upon any vehicle or other conveyance, any creature other than a dog or cat in a cruel or inhuman manner, he shall be guilty of a misdemeanor." Know your rights and Follow the laws for protesting, we the Petitioners do not honor otherwise. https://www.aclu-ms.org/resources/protester-advisory/ PDF’S are available at the following link.
