BEAUMONT LEAD
Barry Heaven was a top SAPOL cop, the youngest to be made a detective at age 21, and then a highly respected private investigator.
Heaven conducted an extensive investigation into the Beaumont and Adelaide Oval abductions at the time of those cold cases.
Heaven ceased his investigation when he was threatened, but he'd created a large and meticulously crafted file of investigation notes and photos which captured the essence of those leads which were strong enough to draw death threats.
Those notes - 60 pages and 30 photos - were a decade ago provided to then Shadow Police Spokesman David Ridgway with other senior politicians aware of these investigation notes being handed over and aware of the names and locations of Heaven's well informed suspicions.
Five years ago, Ridgway and former Premier Rob Kerin, acknowledged they received this file, which remains very much genuine new information in these cases.
SAPOL have told me they were not only not aware of the investigation or content of that file, they suggested they were not aware of former SAPOL Detective Barry Heaven.
When asked for a copy of the file, Mr Ridgway told me he had "probably thrown it out".
I don't believe anyone would've thrown out this important file, potentially the most important new information in the two cases this State... Australia... seek answers to.
I don't feel anyone would disregard such material, particularly when they've met with it's chaperones in somewhat stealth fashion on several occasions to discuss its content.
To have thrown it out - which I'm certain would be regarded widely as ridiculous to contemplate - you surely must've first been familiar with it's content.
David Ridgway please provide the Barry Heaven investigation report to SAPOL and make a public statement on the nature of its content.
Friends, your support by way of comment and sharing this post widely would be greatly appreciated. It's simply not true that these cases can never be solved.
