As we advocate for Mischa's Law, it's crucial to address the systemic barriers that prevent military spouses from accessing vital resources. Despite the Department of Defense's (DOD) efforts to support military families, some service members may still obstruct their spouses' participation in essential events and programs, such as SFRG/NSFL/UPFRP and ACS events.

To bridge this gap, we propose a mandatory educational program for spouses covered under DEERS, designed to provide a safe and confidential environment for them to access resources and support. This initiative would mirror the mandatory in-processing requirements for service members, ensuring that spouses receive the support they need to thrive.

By partnering with off-base community nonprofit organizations, we can provide spouses with access to specialized services and resources that may not be available through traditional military channels. This approach acknowledges the unique challenges faced by military families and seeks to empower spouses with the knowledge and support they need to navigate these challenges.

We understand that this proposal may face resistance, but we believe that the benefits of mandatory support programs for military spouses far outweigh the costs. We urge lawmakers to take bold action and support Mischa's Law, ensuring that military families receive the care and resources they deserve. Will you join us in advocating for this critical legislation?
