Fraudulent practices of TIKONA
The Issue
Tikona is nothing but a fraudulent company. They don't believe in treating customers fairly and Don't have any regard for TRAI guidelines on Broadband termination.
Tikona have such unethical corporate practices never heard in corporate history of India. They stoop to such levels of extortion and blackmailing harassing the hapless customers just for the mistake of subscribing to their services.
When a dissatisfied customer asks for termination of broadband connection, what he gets in return is calls from some rude speaking self proclaimed lawyers from Delhi civil courts, saying that they are filing civil suit etc., and threatening that customer will suffer endlessly. Then the customer gets one more call that you pay this final settlement, connection will be terminated and the customer is lured into paying the same. Once the same is paid, your connection is made active WITH OUT your consent and your problem is back to square one.
TRAI has sent clear guidelines to these operators as how the customer request for termination should be addressed (Reproduced below) but Tikona has absolute NO regard for LAW of the land.

"Q 10. A consumer has made a request for termination (closure) of the service. How long has he to wait? What about rentals and other dues?
A.The service provider shall terminate the connection within 7 days. They cannot charge rental or any other charges beyond the period of 7 days of request for closure made by the customer. Further, fresh bills shall be raised only after adjustment of the security deposit. The closure/ termination of service shall not be made conditional upon payment of dues/ bills/settlement of dispute. The outstanding amount of security deposits has to be refunded within 60 days of closure/ termination of service. In case of delay in refund beyond 60 days, a consumer is entitled to interest at the rate of 10% per annum for the number of days refund is delayed beyond 60 days"

Time for GoI, DoT and TRAI quickly act on TIKONA and reprimand them.
