Kia ora tātou,

On Thursday July 8th our Petition and submission was officially presented to Parliament, it is currently with the Petitions Select Committee. If you want to be updated here is the link, and click get notifications. https://www.parliament.nz/en/pb/petitions/document/PET_112115/petition-of-don-wilson-and-kirsty-watt-to-improve-pelvic

Please note that there was a cap on characters used so the Petition itself is very basic but our Submission is far more comprehensive. We are thankful to all those that attended and supported from afar, also to those that continue to work in this area, to those that have talked about it, reported on it, shared it, and empowered others to seek help in the process, education is what empowers us to do better for ourselves.

On a side note Health Reporter Emma Russell for the New Zealand Herald is working on a project that is looking at a total overhaul of how we treat women's health issues, she is putting together 100 headshot photos of Wahine who have battled our health system.

Emma is looking still looking for women, and needs to hear from women who have had Women's Health Issues including Period Poverty, Endometriosis, Post Natal Depression, Cervical Cancer, Uterine Cancer, Ovarian Cancer, PCOS, Pelvic Health Issues, Birth Trauma, Hormonal Conditions, Surgical Mesh, and any other women's health conditions that are are applicable.

If you are one of these women and are interested, can you please email Emma.russell@nzme.co.nz with the subject line "Her Health"

Please include a Head shot photo of yourself, your condition and brief description, Full name and age.

We look forward to updating you on any further developments, unfortunately it is a waiting game from now on.
