The Taiji Dolphin hunters are mass murderers and must be bought to justice!

In the past 70 years, Japan has annihilated over one million cetaceans (whales and dolphins). These deranged bloodbaths begin by lowering metal poles into the sea and banging them incessantly. These awful noises frighten dolphins and disrupt their ability to communicate amongst the pod.

The best looking dolphins are isolated from the pod and sold as slaves to dolphinariums. These magnificent sentient creatures are penned-up, drugged and electrocuted into submission. They are sentenced to a miserable existence, entertaining crass consumers. In 2013, Japan sold 158 dolphins into slavery, at an average price of $140,000; that’s over $22 million from animal kidnapping and extreme cruelty. Moreover, organized crime is profiting from this loathsome cetacean slavery industry

While primates are often used in studies on animal intelligence because of their similarities to humans, cetaceans are frequently used as research subjects as well. Looking at the brain of a cetacean, it is clear that perhaps dolphins and whales are much more complex than previously thought. Behind the glass of our “favorite” marine-themed amusement parks (we’re looking at you, SeaWorld) lives a complex organism who may have more to think and even say than we tend to believe.

Communication is so great in cetaceans that there is a strong possibility they are able to project (yes … literally project) an “auditory image” that replicates a sonar message they may receive. The process is a bit confusing, but MSU describes it in this circumstance: “So a dolphin wishing to convey the image of a fish to another dolphin can literally send the image of a fish to the other animal. The equivalent of this in humans would be the ability to create instantaneous holographic pictures to convey images to other people.”

Every year, in Taiji, Japan, dolphins are chased into a small cove and butchered in the most horrific and cruel way imaginable. The hunts are subsidized by the dolphin captivity industry, which pays top dollar for a few “show quality” dolphins that are ripped from their families. The rest of the pod is killed for meat laden with mercury and PCBs. Most Japanese don’t even know the hunts exist. The Japanese government supports the dolphin killers and denies any health issues.

And that is why all involved in this wicked cruelty must be brought to justice by the highest court in the land!! Killing dolphins and capturing them must be made illegal, and then all involved bought to justice!!!
