Similar to the Child Abuse Registry and the Adult Abuse Registry, we are urging Government to create and implement a Manitoba Animal Abuse Registry. This registry will identify those individuals who have committed an act of animal cruelty, violating the Animal Cruelty Act of Canada, which is federal legislation that prohibits  individuals from "causing unecessary pain, suffering, or injury to an animal or bird" and "causing damage or injury by wilful harm and/or neglect against an animal". Any individual violating this act will be prohibited from obtaining an animal.
