Dear Supporters.
I am sorry there have been no updates on this petition for a long time. A lot has been happening, too much to mention here.
I hope you have all been safe and well.
To recap, as you know, a hard copy of the petition was delivered to the French Justice Ministry in 2019 but the Minister or any representative of his has still not responded, let alone acknowledged receiving the petition or my follow up letter. In other words, there is no sign whatsoever that the changes we are calling for are have been considered. No one is saying anything.
Therefore, this email is to ask for your support to help put pressure on 'the decision maker' by contacting him directly yourselves. Monsieur Éric Dupond-Moretti, might be find it easy to ignore a single petition with over 6000 signatures from one of us, but dozens, hundreds, or thousands of emails and letters from us might get more of his attention. So I cordially invite your to send an email or snail mail letter to Monsieur Éric Dupond-Moretti, Ministre de la Justice, Hôtel de Bourvallais 13, Place Vendôme Paris,France, or call his office.
If you speak French, it might be easier to make a phone call.
If the Minister or his staff are refusing to budge, we need to give them a nudge or two. It doesn't matter which way really.
Here’s a few things to consider including:
"Introduce yourself
A link to the petition ( https://www.change.org/p/minister-of-justice-%C3%A9ric-dupond-moretti-for-the-french-civil-code-to-allow-consanguineous-marriage ) and mention a hard copy with 6000 signatures was delivered to the Justice Ministry in 2019 but neither the Minister or his representative has responded.
State the main message, e.g. “ We request that consanguineous marriages be legalized. etc. i.e. lt is not Liberté, égalité, fraternité (French) to discriminate against consang / CIAO people.
You’re calling on the Minister de la Justice “I’m disappointed you have refused to comment on this petition.
"Please respond to the Ciao / consang community's and it's supporters' concerns immediately.”
Why this issue is important to you personally.

Thank you for your hard work!
Keep forwarding the petition to people who haven't signed it before. They may have been too busy or sick or tired the first time.
So don't give up after your first try. "If at first you don't succeed...try again and try again." "The squeaky wheel gets the grease." It is boring but true.
There is such a 'dome of silence' on this issue, that most people are never aware that it even exists. It is 'out of sight, out of mind'. If they actually think about it for a moment, it is not hard for them to realize how gravely unfair the situation really is. And they will want to sign.
Best wishes to all. Thanks again!
