This week, my lawyer is making a last ditch attempt to help us stay in the country by applying for another ministerial intervention on our behalf. This wouldn’t have been possible without you all demonstrating public support for my husband and me.
Can you please help us reach 50,000 signatures before our application is lodged this week?
Amplify/ Promote the petition
Before this petition our situation looked very bleak. We had exhausted all legal avenues of escalating our case. Even though we are genuine applicants who care about the community, this was not reflected on paper due to the actions of dodgy lawyers we encountered in the past.
Now, we’ve had multiple representatives write to the Immigration Minister on our behalf - from my local mayor to state and federal member, David Basham and Rebecca Sharkie, Steve Georganas multiple letters of support have been written to Andrew Giles, urging him to reconsider our application.
All I wanted was to have a voice to explain the injustice my husband and I have been subjected to. Your support also helped us get media attention where we got the opportunity to share our story with more people on channel 9 https://www.9news.com.au/national/immigration-visa-news-australia-aged-care-worker-and-husband-facing-deportation/08189dbc-4f76-468c-ab3c-41a7a63fe4a2
Now, I would like the Immigration Department and Minister to see 50,000 signatures on our petition when they receive our application. All your support so far has given us so much hope.Thank you for all you’ve done.
