Keep decision-making in Sask. education in the hands of local, elected school boards

The Issue

Changes to Saskatchewan's Education Act (1995) will remove the ability of local, elected school boards, school divisions, and educators to make decisions about education, placing all decision-making power in the hands of the Minister of Education. The government consulted with the public and heard resoundingly that the public wants local input in our education system. This bill ignores the will of the public and is being pushed through quickly and with no public consultation. We, the public, urge the government to stop this Bill and to consult with the public about its intentions and to respect the will of the people.
