Dear Equal Civil Partnerships community, In just one month’s time, we’re heading to the highest court in the land to make the case - again - for equal civil partnerships. On 14th and 15th May, our case reaches the UK Supreme Court. We could never have come this far without you - the 125,000 people who have signed this petition. Together, we have doggedly pushed the government to change the law to help the UK’s three million cohabiting couples and their two million children finally secure legal recognition and financial protection. Four years, three Equalities Ministers and two little kids later, we’re still standing (just about!), and are relieved to be in the final stretch. But we still have £7,000 of outstanding legal costs. Specifically, we need your help paying for what are known as the ‘bundles’ - a special collection of legal documents for the five Supreme Court judges. They also ruled that the current difference in treatment is unsustainable. Now we need to persuade the Supreme Court judges to rule that time is up, and the government must finally open civil partnerships to all. Doing so would be fair, popular and provide security for families across the country. Please support the cause.
