Allow the people of Dublin to vote on whether or not we have a directly elected mayor for the city.

The Issue

A petition to the Minister for Environment and Local Government to allow the people of Dublin to vote on whether or not we have a directly elected mayor for Dublin.

At a recent vote across the four Dublin local authorities, councillors voted by a majority of five-to-one in favour of allowing the people to vote on this issue. The Minister needs to respect that large majority and find a new way of allowing the people of Dublin to have their say.

We are encouraging every citizen to sign this petition asking the Government to act.
