Petition updateMake the Minister of Immigration reassess the case of Khushal, a heroic Afghan interpreterKHUSHAL'S ASYLUM CASE MAY NOT EVEN BE CONSIDERED, AND HE MAYBE DEPORTED WITHOUT A HEARING.

Dear all,
Sorry to trouble you once again.
Just to let you know that Khushal has now been placed under the Dublin proceedure. This means that, as his fingerprints were taken upon entering the EU via Greece, he will likely be deported to Greece for them to take his case ... before the merits of his individual case are even LOOKED at here in the UK!
You can find more information about the Dublin Regulation here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dublin_Regulation ... but I hope that you agree that, given the particulars of Khushal's background, its application here is wholly inappropriate.
You have already been fantastic in your support, so I am not asking this of you lightly. However, if you do get a chance to send an email to ministerforimmigration@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk asking him to at least EXAMINE the case for Khushal's asylum (as 120,000 signatures have specifically asked him to do!) instead of merely deporting him - then I feel confident we might be able to forestall such a ridiculous decision.
Perhaps I could suggest entitling your email: DO NOT DEPORT KHUSHAL TALASH WITHOUT EVEN CONSIDERING HIS CASE.
Hopefully a decent volume of emails will persuade Mr Brokenshire - who still has not condescended to reply to any of this!!! - to finally do the right thing and give Khushal the benefit of a fair hearing.
Obviously in today's serious climate there are many things for us to consider and worry about, about which we can actually do very little. Hopefully, however, here is one issue - however comparatively trivial - where your support could continue to make all the difference.
Yours sincerely,
George Tyldesley
