A PITIFUL RESPONSE - THAT CAME TOO LATE
Mar 30, 2016 — In the early hours of the morning on the 10th of March, I lost my beautiful gran. She went peacefully and quietly, without pain.
My gran was ready to go and be with her son. Although I will miss her terribly, I have chosen not to dwell in sorrow that she has died but instead to celebrate that she lived. I was so fortunate to have lived with her for 18 years and to be guided by her beautiful nature.
I am bitterly disappointed that the minister for Health & Ageing Sussan Ley did not respond in time for my gran to hear her response. I am even more disappointed in the pathetic response I have received.
The NSW State Government responded to tell me this was a federal issue. The Federal Government has now finally responded to tell me this is a State issue.
So, if this is not the responsibility of either the Federal or State Government, then who's issue is it? It's appears to be the issue of the Australian elderly.
We now have over 4,200 supporters. We need to get to 5,000 and we need to start making some noise. Please share this petition on your Facebook pages, email the link to friends and family.
We will not be ignored. We will not be a buck that is passed from department to department in the hopes that we will go away.
I will not stop fighting for improvement to aged care because my gran has passed away, I will continue to fight for all those elderly Australians who deserve comfort, safety, preservation of dignity and care in their final years.
I will respond to the minister and I urge you to please do the same.
Minister for Health & Ageing Sussan Ley, this is not good enough and I will not stop, I will not go away.
Please see the ministers pathetic response below. I will update you with my response to her tomorrow.
