HACAN East to fight London City Airport’s expansion plans – can you help?

London City airport is appealing against a planning decision by its home Borough, Newham, to reject their proposals to expand their hours of operation – (PHASE eNews Feb 2023). HACAN East will appear at the Planning Inquiry, making as strong a case as they can alongside Newham to halt this in its tracks.

Message from Tim Walker, Forest Hill Society and HACAN East committee member:

‘HACAN East is to attend the Inquiry as a Rule 6 participant. We will be putting to the Inquiry a number of arguments focused on a number of issues but particularly on noise and economics.

It is a complex process - we are engaging expert witnesses and have instructed Legal Counsel - we are fortunate to have secured the services of Estelle Dehon KC, a prominent barrister in Inquiries including the Bristol one.

There is more about this on the HACAN East website and on our Crowdfunder site.

Plane Hell Action fully supports this initiative, many of our supporters impacted not just by arrivals to Heathrow but also to London City, the former forcing the latter to fly very low over their homes.
