Heathrow-funded Expansion and Airspace Design Consultation - have your say

Bridget BellTaunton, United Kingdom

Feb 12, 2018
Heathrow has 'forgotten' its promise to abolish night flights and its current consultation for airport expansion will push to operate flight arrivals from 5.30am. Heathrow wishes to keep the current arbitrarily-set line that suggests that east from Clapham noise of planes arriving for Heathrow is 'not a problem' despite evidence that noise annoys as far away as Woolwich, East London.
Heathrow is also consulting on airspace design. Their 3 suggestions, which do not include many and dispersed flight paths, would result in concentrated areas of noise and air pollution. This is not fair; it is not right.
Please will you write and push for
•a total ban on flights between 10pm and 7am, except for emergency situations: expansion.feedback@heathrowconsultation.com
• dispersed flight paths and a realistic Lden51 noise metric to take into account the true point that plane noise (and fuel pollution) begin to affect the daily lives of those overflown: airspace.feedback@heathrowconsultation.com
Deadline for responses is 28 March 2018, 11.55pm. THANK YOU for your support.
