Friends of Mims Preserve,

Please send council member, Dr Kara Foster, an email (Kara.foster AT hollyspringsnc.gov ) and THANK her for acknowledging our petition, and for expressing awareness of the importance of preserving Mims in its entirety.

Mims Forest and its inhabitants are not safe yet, so please contact the town today.
Send an email, speak at a town council meeting, or make a call to town leaders. Your voice makes a difference.

 Thank you. 🌳

Dr Foster’s response below:

Thank you for taking the time to send this, and for sharing the petition and the voices of so many residents who care deeply about the Mims Property.

I hear the concern clearly. The preservation of mature trees, wetlands, wildlife habitat, and natural spaces is incredibly important, not just for today’s residents, but for the long-term health and character of Holly Springs. I also understand that many in the community see this property as a unique opportunity to protect a forested space in its entirety.

I will make sure your message, the letter, and the significant number of petition signatures are acknowledged as part of the public input around this issue. I appreciate residents organizing respectfully and making their priorities known.
As council continues reviewing the future of this property, I will keep these concerns in mind and continue asking how we can balance public access, environmental stewardship, long-term maintenance, and preservation in a way that truly serves the community.
Thank you again for reaching out and for advocating for this special place.
Sincerely,
Kara Foster
