Give Millburn Public Schools Back Its Third Snow Day

Give Millburn Public Schools Back Its Third Snow Day

The Issue

Millburn Public Schools just experienced its first of now two given snow days. This was changed from the previous three snow days that the schools were entitled to. The problem with this is that although schedules do change, the weather does not. Just because you want to add new holidays or vacations to the schedule does not mean that it is going to snow any less. Also regarding the schedule changes, the February vacation has been shortened for this year, which makes taking away a snow day make even less sense. If there is going to be vacation time removed, why is it necessary to further limit the amount of snow days? Being that it is only November, there is plenty of time for it to snow again, and with this two day limit we are most likely going to exceed those days, and therefor have to extend the end of the school year. Taking away a snow day was a poor choice and our schools need its third day back.
