MILESTONE - WRC The Game: Group A [1998-2004(or longer)] cars & drivers, and online championships.
The Issue
Hello everyone!
I think we agree that rally doesn't feel the same nowadays, with all these new "stable" cars and paintings way too "advertise-ish". One of the best phases of WRC, if not the best, was during the Group A between 98-2004 more or less.
Back in that time, each car had its own personality and we could distinguish them, but now every car is as nearly the same as the rest, all balanced and stuff... and the new rally games developed by Milestone (the new generation of the WRC game) has been affected and so did we, gamers.
I dont know about you, but I feel obligated to get back to Colin Mcrae Rally 2.0, 3 or the old WRC games in order to have fun rallying again with the cars of those seasons, because the new ones are just too boring. Not only the cars changed, but the drivers and manufacturers lost their identity as well, allowing to be brand-named.
There's a feeling that FIA took a few decisions that didn't help WRC at all nor it's fan-base, so this video is somehow an argument to a petition in order to suggest MILESTONE to bring back the old rally times on their future WRC game, by adding the cars from the seasons represented on these videos and put them on a Group where we could choose it to play the championship mode, etc.
Nevertheless, this is also a great opportunity to show our interest in Online Racing. We all know that games which don't have vision towards multiplayer, die pretty quickly.
So theres this idea to MILESTONE admins or community managers organize Official Online Championships so that people could sign up on their website and dispute the championship in the game just like they do in real WRC. I believe this would keep the game and the series alive for longer.
By adding this Group A on the video, they could easily set the type of each championship for example: Old Group A Championship, Group B, Group A New Generation (present cars), etc.
This would easily satisfy each racer's category preferability.
