#RallyforMarcellus this Tuesday!

Missourians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty

Aug 19, 2017 — We have a little less than four days to save Marcellus, and we’re doing all we can to do just that – but we need your help to make the most of that time.

Will you attend the #RallyForMarcellus this Tuesday in St. Louis?

Marcellus is scheduled to be executed at 6 PM UTC this Tuesday, the 22nd, and we intend on fighting until the final minute. Days of executions are often filled with lots of legal back and forth, and an execution can be called off minutes before it is scheduled to take place.

Before the rally, we’ll be hand delivering all of your signatures to Missouri Governor Eric Greitens himself in Jefferson City. But we want to make it extra clear to the Governor that we are serious about holding him accountable for standing by as his state kills an innocent man. That’s why we need you to show up to help us convey that message, by the numbers.

Will you join us at the #RallyforMarcellus at 3 PM on Tuesday?

If noise is not raised when the state kills an innocent man, then nothing will stop them from doing it again. This is not just about Marcellus, it is about all of the past, present, and future wrongfully convicted. It is about every black person who is five times more likely to be arrested than a white person, regardless of innocence. It is about all of those wrongfully convicted and then left in prison – without legal advocacy, without a chance, with only death to look forward to.

It stops now, and it stops with Marcellus.
