MSU won't let white nationalist group National Policy Institute and Richard Spencer speak on campus. On Wednesday, MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon released a statement that said The National Policy Institute wants to have a speaker on campus, and that MSU was "reviewing the request closely in light of the deplorable violence in Charlottesville, Va. last weekend." In a statement released Thursday afternoon, the university said it has denied the request. Although we applaud the decision made by the university and President Simon, the time it took to figure out the "right" vs "wrong" of having this group here was astounding. There is still plenty of work to do.
