According to reports on the Daily Telegraph and other News Corp outlets, news anchor Natasha Exelby has been sacked following an on-air blooper going 'viral'.

Sky's Laura Jayes described it appropriately:

"What a ridiculous, humourless overreaction from the ABC. Not even Virginia Trioli was admonished for the Barnaby Joyce incident (caught mocking a Minister and, at the very least, leaving the audience with a perception of bias).

"This was funny, it went viral, the audience obviously loved the endearing, human moment."

If journalists, presenters and news readers were sacked every time they made an on-air gaffe - they're be none left!

Michelle Guthrie as the CEO and Editor in Chief of the ABC should immediately intervene and put Natasha Exelby back on the air.
