Almost 10 years since we won paid parental leave...JOIN ME as we fight for more:)

It's been 10 years! 

Hi everyone—it’s approaching 10 years since this petition launch... and so much has changed because of what everyone here took part in. 

All the support in this petition kick started my life as an activist. Since then I’ve been able to help lead the fight for smaller class sizes, for premium free health care, to fix tier 6, the para respect legislation, the Students of NYC initiative, and more.

Many you have been following the journey on my instagram where I share info about current fights,  as well as tips and tricks to help navigate life as a mom, UFT member, and educator, and just a working person (or person!) in NYC and beyond.

This year, we have a new contract to fight for, more parental leave rights, our para respect check, paid family leave—so much more.  So I'm writing to ask that if you aren't already, please take a moment to follow my IG so you can stay updated on the fights ahead and join in to be part of the next round of change. I get so many DMs about changes people want to see and ideas for how to organize us and make things happen. I need your voice too:) 

After you follow, share with your friends who care about working people in this city too. The more we all have access to info and a place to share our voices in Unity, the stronger we are.

Happy decade!!! It’s wild that now UFT members have to be told the story of how we had no parental leave and a bunch of strangers on the internet came together to help finish the fight to make it happen. So much gratitude for every name on this list who helped be a part of this fight.
