I traveled to the US with a dream to build a small luxury Hotel in Miami Beach. This property was supposed to provide employment for over 25 workers. Since I started my project in 2010, I have been living in a nightmare. Each General Contractor I have worked with has abused their power and taken advantage of me. General Contractors commit fraud and the law provides loopholes for them to steal from clients. My 28 room hotel was only supposed to take 2 years to reconstruct and not to exceed 3 million dollars, however 8 years have passed and I have been robbed of over 9 million dollars for a project that I am still struggling to open. I have paid thousands of dollars to lawyers, I have filed complaints with the DBPR for them to be aware of the injustice against investors, I have even contacted police yet no one has been able to provide a solution. Many other investors I meet are suffering in the same situation. For me, this experience has been difficult as I no longer have enough money to reach my dream but hopefully this petition will touch your heart. I may have lost but together I want the to protect the honor of our law and the image of our nation.
