Senior faith leaders support IFN - Petition deadline extended to March 18!

As the Church Times reported last week the Archbishop of York described the withdrawal of Government funding "as a matter of great regret" and "a sad day for our nation."  He added that the work of IFN has "helped to bind diverse communities together for many years".

Rabbi Alexandra Wright also shared her concerns: "I was disturbed and mystified by the decision of the government to withhold funds promised to the IFN last year...."

"I do not understand the logic of bringing 40 years of the IFN’s work to a close, unless it is further to polarise different religious groupings in this country and drive a sword of hostility between us."

Michaela Youngson, Assistant Secretary of the Methodist Conference and Connexional Ecumenical Officer: "The Methodist Church has long valued and supported the work of the Interfaith Network. At a time when there is an increase of incidents of discrimination, particularly in terms of antisemitism and islamophobia, it is more important than ever that those committed to working across and within faith communities are supported and resourced."
