A Demand from the Malek Fahd Islamic School community To members of the School board (Past and Present)

The issue

A Demand from the MFIS community                            To members of the School board (Past and Present)  The parents, staff, students, Alumni and the community of Malek Fahd Islamic School stand united in opposition of the impact of the axed funding decision by the federal government. We accept and agree with the federal government ruling however we demand a response to the alleged financial mismanagement of the school from the school board. The school has had multiple inspections by BOSTES and the curriculum was found to be totally compliant. The governance of the school needs immediate transparency.   Background MFIS Greenacre is the largest Islamic School in Australia. It has yearly enrolments of approximately 2400 students and employs about 170 staff. It is an asset to the community at large. Students have graduated to become active, contributors to our valued Australian society.  MFIS has been given an ultimatum and is at risk of closing down. This would be a great injustice and a valuable asset lost for the community. The reasons given (though justified) for the decision have nothing to do with the main stakeholders which are the students, parents, staff and the wider MFIS community. Do we not owe it to ourselves and the innocent children and as a matter of democratic principle to be heard.
