Petition updateStop the Metuchen Downtown Alliance - The borough council's solution to vacant storefronts
What does "I Love Brainy Boro" have to do with the Metuchen Downtown Alliance?

Over 100 years ago, the Borough of Metuchen entered into a weekly newspaper challenge with the town of Glen Ridge to feature a resident "brain." Due to the Pennsylvania Railroad commuters, Metuchen had lot's of ammunition: bankers, engineers, businessmen, newspapermen, authors, editors, illustrators, and artists. After over a year of witty bantering back and forth, Metuchen declared victory and to this day remains the "Brainy Borough" with a Brainy Borough Post Office and postal mark.
The Metuchen Downtown Alliance is NOT the solution to empty storefronts. The "I Love Brainy Boro" logo is all about educating oneself about what is going on in town, getting the facts, using your brain, and voicing your opposition to a new taxing bureaucracy and overreaching government.
THINK! Would you want a bureaucracy telling you how to run your business? That's unhealthy. It's not complicated. Government needs to get out of the way and give the risk-taking entrepeneurs free range!
