"Please Help Us!": Croton Harmon Newsstand Going Up For Bid By MTA
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,500!
WHO ARE WE?
The visually impaired Marafito Family that has run the NewsStand at the Croton Harmon Station for “51” years—as of a year ago has been serving our customers with only a month-to-month lease. We have known there was a possibility that this location would one day go out for bid. THAT TIME IS HERE. This is particularly hard for this family because in 2018 it will be the 10th anniversary of Theresa “Terry” Marafito’s tragic death having been hit by an Amtrak train at that station.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
For us to be awarded the successful bid on our location, we need feedback from our tried and true customers, friends & family, and local community at large. We cannot possibly compete against a franchise and/or corporation who have deep pockets. The Petition below will be directed to the MTA so that they will see how important this service has been to our customers in the past, now and in the future.
LET’S GO VIRAL!! We need everybody to sign this Petition on our behalf.
(Bid is up middle of July)
We appreciate your help & support. Thank you…
Warmly, Nance (Marafito) Cohen & Family
