Hi everyone,
This huge wave of support for a more sustainable Colorado Boulevard has been overwhelming! Thank you, not just for wanting a brighter future for Los Angeles, but for signing this petition to show there is support for more environmentally-friendly (and people-friendly) transportation. Signing the petition was a great first step. But the success of this project and our momentum really depends on these next two critical steps.
The most impactful thing you can do right now is:
1) Email a note of support to Metro and County Supervisor Hilda Solis.
The anti-transit crowd want to push bus riders onto a freeway where riders will face more noise and air pollution. Tell Metro and Supervisor Solis that this is NOT okay. Feel free to copy/paste the following:

Dear Metro and Supervisor Solis,
I am writing to share my support for BRT on Colorado Boulevard in Eagle Rock. We need more public transit to serve the community and connect to the rest of Metro’s network. Public transit works best when it’s accessible- when it runs on the streets where people live, shop, and can connect with destinations, not barren and pedestrian-hostile freeways. Running BRT on Colorado will not only help those who are transit-dependent, but it will make getting around easier for everyone by giving us an attractive alternative to driving. I want a more sustainable Los Angeles and urge you to say YES to BRT on Colorado for Eagle Rock.
Thank you,
2) Attend Metro’s public meeting in Eagle Rock this Saturday! The meeting will be at the Eagle Rock Plaza, Suite 236. The address is 2700 Colorado Blvd., Suite 236, Los Angeles 90041. There will be signs directing you there but if you have trouble finding it, the location is in the center of the plaza (above Seafood City).
The meeting is this Saturday, July 13th, 1-3pm.
Why do we need to attend the meeting? Because it’s guaranteed there WILL be people who show up on Saturday simply because they are adamantly against any public transit improvements. We need to show up and let Metro know we support BRT on Colorado Boulevard. If you only have time to stop by & fill out a comment card, that’s totally fine! Every bit of support helps.
See you Saturday! :) Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
