Save Spellman Park From Subdivision and Sale

Save Spellman Park From Subdivision and Sale
The Issue
Spellman Park is a wilderness park on southern Vancouver Island in the District of Metchosin. This park is 5 acres of wilderness that is directly connected to Blinkhorn Nature Park which is 45 acres of wilderness. Together these Parks provide 50 acres of protected forest for wildlife including Pacific tree frogs, northern pygmy owls, black bears, and cougars. Spellman Park is also adjacent to habitat recognised for the endangered Sharp-tailed Snake, and the rare Howell's violet has been identified in Blinkhorn Nature Park. Now the Mayor and Council of Metchosin want to subdivide Spellman Park and sell it for residential housing. Please show your support for the wildlife of this area, and tell Metchosin Mayor and Council that PARKS ARE NOT FOR SALE AND PROTECT SPELLMAN PARK FROM SUBDIVISION AND DEVELOPMENT!
