Thank you all so much for 515 signers! We’ve had a lot of new signatures come in since the one year anniversary of Snowy’s passing, welcome aboard!
For this update, I wanted to share another example of Adelaide Soo memorialising one of their animals - Kemiri the Sumerian Tiger. Again, even simple plaque with a photo like this one would be lovely for Snowy!
As always, here’s a reminder of what you can do to help us get Snowy a commemorative monument and plaque:
1) Share this petition with anyone you think would like to support this cause - friends, family, coworkers etc who are passionate about meerkats, animal conservation and zoo welfare. 92 of you (16%) have signed thanks to shares on Facebook, showcasing how beneficial this action can be - the more supporters, the more likely Zoos SA will act on this petition!
2) Contact Adelaide Zoo to directly tell them that you want Snowy to have an onsite memorial (feel free to send this petition to them and/or tag them when you share it on social media, along with your own reasons for wanting them to take action):

3) Paying to promote the petition will significantly increase the number of views and potential signatures this petition receives, making it more likely that Zoos SA’s management will see and respond to our requests. Please only consider this option if you have funds to spare, I completely understand that cost of living is at an all-time high right now and many people are struggling to get by (or that people might want to save funds for any fundraising efforts Zoos SA may make). We want this petition to gain as much traction as possible, so that Adelaide Zoo’s management notices and hopefully takes action on our request. Snowy was literally a one-of-a-kind animal, and it’s important that Adelaide Zoo preserves her legacy and contribution to animal history by commemorating her. Let’s all keep working together to make this happen!
