September 2020
Autumn is when political parties usually meet for their annual party conferences. Whilst conferences will be online this year, parties gather with Basic Income accelerating up the political agenda. Join a discussion irrespective of the party you support. UBI is good for all parties.
Here is how you can get involved.
Basic Income could become Liberal Democrat party policy as they will be voting on a motion in support of the idea. We are partnering with Lib Dems for Basic Income to host a 'virtual fringe event' asking 'is UBI the big Liberal idea?' on Monday 21st September 7-8pm.
Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats Jane Dodds will be hosting the discussion and she'll be joined by Sir Vince Cable and prominent economist Vicky Pryce.
In the Labour Party, a new Labour for a Basic Income group is launching with a fringe event on Sunday 20th September at 3pm. Join a brilliant line up of speakers, including Beth Winter MP, as they discuss 'why UBI is a Labour idea'.

You don't have to be a member of either party to attend.Basic Income will of course be discussed by other parties across the conference season as cross-party support continues to grow.
