Thank you, everyone, for signing this petition.
I have done the following so far in the fight to Save Dumbarton Street Grassland (DSG):
1. Completed the first draft of a document that outlines the issues and my arguments for why Dumbarton Street Grasslands should be managed as a grassland and wildlife reserve.
2. Written to State and Federal Ministers (Environment and Sitting Members in my electorate) and Local Government (Darebin City Council), sharing my outline of the issue. I have had a reply from Robin Scott's Office (Member for Preston, Vic Gov); they intend to follow-up the issue.
3. Contacted the Preston Leader (Local Newspaper), who published an article regarding the proposed development of the site. I have been contacted by the reporter (Ed Gardiner) who is wanting to publish another article about the local community's concerns and environmental interest in the land, including a photo of locals.
4. Created a Facebook Group: Friends of Dumbarton Street Grassland. 12 members so far. Please support the cause by joining the group
5. Created a petition through Change.org
6. Contacted Environmental Groups: Indigenous Flora and Fauna Association (IFFA), Greening Australia, Landcare, Darebin Creek Management Committee, Friends of Grasslands.
7. Completed the second draft of my submission (outline of the issues to be sent to government)
Thanks again for your support
