The issue

Lincoln square is one of Melbourne's most iconic skate spots and we are currently at risk of losing the privilege of having such an incredible plaza almost in the heart of our city.

we are a strong-willed bunch of guys and girls and one thing skateboarders are good at is coming together for the good of skateboarding. We want to show the council that the small minority that have in the past disrespected the memorial at lincoln does not represent the skateboarding community of Melbourne.

The city of Melbourne councilors voted on the 9th of December 2014 to redesign the park to make it unsuitable and unattractive to skateboarders, works costing up to $300,000 could start in April. (Money that could be spent on building new plazas, new parks etc) We want to educate the council on what skateboarding is really about and rid the perception that we are a rowdy unwanted bunch.

We believe we can come to an agreement with compromise from both ends to continue to keep Lincoln skateable and respected by all that use the memorial.

If you agree and want to see Lincoln skateable in 2015 sign and share this petition!
