We submitted the petition directly to the Minister of Foreign Affairs
Hello, we are "U20s who hope to succeed at the G7 Hiroshima Summit", Yuna Okajima, and Miharu Obayashi.
It is an honor to announce that we have submitted 21,139 signatures directly to Mr.Takuro Uhchiyama, the Senior Secretary of the G7 Hiroshima Summit Secretariat, Ministry of Foreign Affairs on March 27th.
Moreover, Yuna Okajima and Miharu Obayashi took turns expressing our feelings directly to Mr.Takuro Uchiyama, instead of just submitting the written request and the petition.
”Instead of just listening to the testimonies from atomic bomb survivors, please lead to the discussion of nuclear abolition."

We are convinced that our direct messages were completely delivered to Mr.Uchiyama.
Mr.Uchiyama, Chief Administrative Officer commented,
" I would like to consider the implementation of the requests given in the petition, especially the tour of the Peace Memorial Museum. “
We strongly believe that we could've not come this far, reaching more than 20,000 signatures in just about a month, without the enormous support from the Change.org staff members and of course, everyone who has shared and signed this petition.

Initially, we were planning to close this petition at the end of March, but we have decided to keep collecting signatures until about the day G7 Hiroshima Summit will be held.
Furthermore, we have decided to submit this petition by letter and email not only to the embassies of the G7 countries but also to the embassies of the outreach countries participating in the Hiroshima Summit.
We would greatly appreciate your continued cooperation.
