How in the long run they think it'd better for a mentally handicap man of 58 with a brain of a 3 year old to leave his home he has been in 43 years because his mum and dad have died, to put him in a accommodation and have other carers instead of his own family, how in the long run that will be beneficial to him, to us and to their expenses!! Because they will be paying for the accommodation and his carers!! "
He can not look after himself!!!!
He needs 24 7 care!!!!!
He can't process his mum isn't coming back, it hasn't even been 3 months, he still asks for her and gets her shopping trolley.
He is glued to my sister and her husband who are his full time carers and guardians now.
He has lost his mum and dad, to take his home and his carers he knows and trusts to replace with somewhere and people he doesn't know, won't like or trust, so he acts out, harms himself, and then will probably die of a broken heart, and that is not a exaggeration!!!!
he was not supposed to live to 3 or walk or talk, he is here, not forever but still here.
let him live in the peace and comfort he can instead of turning his life upside down!
It is already so confusing for him!
He is a well known and loved resident of Harold avenue, part of the furniture, the mums, dad's and kids who wave to him daily and stop to talk to him in the front garden on the barnsole school run, small things like that make his absolute day!
What they want to do with him is breaking our hearts, my nan and grandad fought tirelessly to keep him at home, saved the government thousands in what they could of claimed for him by having him in schools, full time carers and respite, up to nan was 83 and passed away unexpectedly and we lost grandad at 71 she still had her baby boy at home, with family support, the most schools he attended they couldn't cope with him anyway and he was 2 to 1 care.
If they could even get him to leave his mum and get on the bus.
Colin will not be another statistic, put somewhere and forgotten about.
He has been at Harold since he was 15, he is 58, he has lost his mum, he has us, he has his memories in the house that we will not change, take the house he doesn't have the capacity for memories so he will have lost it all.
