To the Honourable Directors of the United Nations Security Council, UNICEF, and the World Health Organization,
As doctors and medical staff in the Islamic Republic of Iran, alongside our colleagues around the world, we are committed to protecting the lives and health of all people.
However, we are witnessing some of the most heinous crimes against humanity and a gradual massacre of innocent civilians in besieged, war-torn Gaza. We know that malnutrition, the lack of clean water, and severely limited access to health services in Gaza — worsened by the destruction of hospitals and the killing of medical personnel by the Israeli regime — will inevitably result in the mass death of children, women, and other vulnerable populations.
In a world with such technical and scientific advancement, the death of children in Gaza due to a lack of food, water, and medicine represent a profound moral failure on the part of international medical organizations and human rights institutions.
These tragic images and reports will undoubtedly be etched into the annals of history as a lasting indictment of the institutions and international organizations tasked with safeguarding global health, human rights, and justice.
Therefore, as advocates for health, justice, and human dignity, we urge you to break your silence. Apply all available pressure on the Israeli regime and its supporters to end the siege of Gaza, and take immediate, concrete action to stop the ongoing atrocities and alleviate the suffering of innocent people — especially children and infants.
With respect,
A group of doctors and medical staff from the Islamic Republic of Iran
