Update: Help Shape a More Inclusive Future for Medical School Admissions

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say a heartfelt thank you for your support over the years. Every signature, message, and word of encouragement has meant so much to me.

I wanted to share a positive update on an issue that many of you have supported.

If you applied to an Australian medical school in the last five years and identify as a person with a disability or chronic illness, there’s an opportunity to help improve medical school admissions for future applicants.

The Australian Medical Students’ Association (AMSA) and Western Sydney University are conducting a 15–20 minute anonymous survey to better understand the experiences of applicants with disability. Your insights could help shape more inclusive admission processes and reduce barriers for future doctors.

Who can participate?
• Aged 17 or older
• Identify as having a disability or chronic condition
• Applied to an Australian medical school within the past five years (whether you were accepted or not)

To take part, simply click the link below to complete the survey:

If you’re not eligible, I’d be so grateful if you could share it with someone who may be.

This cause remains incredibly close to my heart. Although I haven’t yet entered medical school myself, I continue to advocate for greater accessibility and inclusion because no one should be excluded from pursuing their dream of becoming a doctor due to unnecessary barriers. Seeing research like this gives me hope that meaningful change is happening, one step at a time.

Thank you again for standing with me on this journey. Together, we can continue making a difference.

With gratitude,

Jerusha
