Save Bijilo Forest Park- The Gambia from being bulldozed

The Issue

#SaveBijiloPark

Bijilo Forest Park is a forest park in the Gambia, lying on the coast 11 km west of Banjul. One of the only sanctuaries in the country, it is home to troops of green vervet, red colobus and patas monkeys- safe and protected from hunters.  It is also home to over 133 species of birds.

It is being bulldozed as we speak.

Please sign this petition and urge the Government of Gambia to put a stop to this destruction.  The park is also one of the last natural areas on an already overdeveloped coastline littered with hotels and facilities sitting half empty most of the time.  The parks destruction will negatively impact tourism and the local economy.  Please act today.
