Please only sign this petition if you have completed one full 10-day course of Vipassana meditation as taught by S.N. Goenka. This petition will only work if it comes from old students of Vipassana meditation.

As old students of Vipassana you know very well that the 5 precepts we are to maintain during the 10-day course are:

1. to abstain from killing any living being
2. to abstain from taken what is not given
3. to abstain from sexual misconduct
4. to abstain from speaking lies
5. to abstain from taking intoxicants

All of the meditation centres serve a vegetarian menu to maintain the first precept. However, by serving dairy and honey products which involves the killing of cows and bees, the precepts cannot possibly be maintained.
