Daily in McNairy County there are reports that animals have been dumped, are abused, have died, are in grave danger due to neglect, or they can no longer be kept due to health, finances, or moving.  

Until now, a number of people have taken it upon themselves to act as a county shelter: housing, feeding, and providing medical care to these animals. The sheer number of animals requiring the citizens’ help has grown so that it is no longer possible for the citizens to handle. Additionally, there have been several instances of attacks on persons by free-roaming animals causing bodily harm.

We are aware that a facility and land has been offered to the town for the purpose of establishing a county-run animal rescue facility.
