Lana's Go Fund Me

At 82, Lana Ponting is one of the last living survivors of the Montreal Experiments at the Allan Memorial Institute (A.M.I.) performed by Dr. Ewen Cameron. The CIA, the Canadian Government, McGill University and the Royal Victoria Hospital were covertly using these innocent patients as MK-Ultra mind control experimental guinea pigs. The cover story is that these glorious institutions were just trying to fight the cold war. There is no excuse now or then for these criminal & barbaric actions.

Indeed the irony abounds that Dr. Ewen Cameron was used as an expert psychiatrist to discredit Hitler's right hand man, Rudolph Hess at the Nuremberg trials in a mock show of official condemnation of performing non consensual torture on humans as the Nazis did in WWII. Why then did Dr. Ewen Cameron go ahead and do just that for decades after Nuremberg? Are we to believe that all is well in institutional medicine when every single patient of Dr. Ewen Cameron had their lives ruined with tragic consequences for them and their families that echoes and haunts them to this day?

There has been no justice for the patients from the government other than a weak admission of guilt in the 90's as a result of a documentary on TV. This ex- gratia payment came with a nearly impossible to prove benchmark set by 3rd parties to determine if a patient was tortured enough. 77 people got the money in the first round of applications.

Not only were victims at the Allan Memorial Institute subjected to heinous experiments including use of restraints, isolation, ECTs, overdoses of insulin resulting in medically-induced comas, drugging with substances including LSD and other vile hypnotic drugs but Duplessis orphans, indigenous children and our most vulnerable members of society were tortured as well this way. Was the cold war to blame for their unfortunate circumstances too?

Lana was admitted to the A.M.I. at 15 years of age. She was admitted by a judge, presumably in some half baked quasi juvvy court, without the objection of her authoritarian father or stepmother for staying out late at night with her friends and listening to rock and roll music.

Once imprisoned in the A.M.I, Lana was subject to severe abuse and torture, including being gang-raped. She was given a heavy cocktail of drugs for two years after her documented one month stint at the A.M.I. Her memory was wiped out for these 2 years until she began to investigate her past in the last 3 years.

Good people are helping Lana recover records and evidence of these lost years of her adolescence. Lana had birthed 2 children during this time. One was presumably the offspring of the A.M.I. gang rape. She is searching for this child. The other child lived less than 24 hours. Her first child as a teen mom was taken from her and placed for adoption. Lana was forced to sign her baby away under duress and cannot recall even signing the papers.

Lana has joined forces with the Mohawk Mothers to investigate the current construction underway at the site of the Royal Victoria Hospital, where McGill contractors are disturbing land that is to contain unmarked graves of Indigenous people, MK-Ultra victims and children. Indeed Lana has been a driving force in the proceedings. She gave her testimony to seeing workers using shovels with red handles in the back of the A.M.I.

During her time at the A.M.I., Lana was able to sneak out of the hospital at night. She went around the grounds and remembers witnessing people digging soil in the middle of the night. The area where she witnessed this activity has since been identified as an area of interest in the ongoing investigation. Remnants have been found and 3 separate cadaver sniffing dogs have come up with positive results. Yet, the media reports falsely that no evidence has been found and McGill has insulted the Mohawk Mothers and the legal injunction by harassing them off the site and resuming construction.

Lana and other victims of Dr. Cameron have been waiting 5 years as a class-action lawsuit slowly winds its way through the courts. Lana’s story has been covered by the BBC and all major news outlets. Today, Lana is still awaiting justice and compensation.

At this rate, Lana may not live to see any settlement. Her last wish is to live her final years pursuing the truth and continuing to provide support and inspiration to 1000's of others who are similarly frustrated in their positions having endured a lifetime of grief and loss with no official acknowledgement or compensation. MK Ultra victims have a much more difficult medical recovery journey to make than most of all known injuries.
