WHAT IS SO URGENT ABOUT STARTING THE ARCHEOLOGICAL AND CONSTRUCTION WORK?
The student society of McGill University Executive is the only conduit reporting on the logjam btwn kanien’kehá:ka kahnistensera, a group of mohawk mothers and the power behind the throne of Suzanne Fortier, president of McGill.
McGill has ignored our entreaty, our petition and the Kahnistensera. Yet, bumbles along issuing counter intuitive proclamations like, "McGill’s Board of Governors in January 2019, recognizes the kanien’kehá:ka as the traditional stewards of the waters and land on which its campuses are located. Further, the plan calls for open dialogue and on-going consultation with Indigenous communities." Yah, no.
That is not happening. But they are tearing up the sidewalks.

PS. This petition is being stonewalled on this platform, the first instance of the petition exploded up to 15k in a few weeks. Now we are dribbling along in the double digits. Plus, I can't even access the site without backdooring it. I keep getting Pop up screens telling me, "Well, this is embarrassing."
