Every day, in the USA alone, 500 million plastic straws are used by people. Imagine if you could still have your fountain drink from your favourite fast food restaurant, but use a lid similar to what you use everyday with your morning coffee?

My name is Scarlett and I am in Grade 6 and that's the idea I had. Along with my Dad's help, we're trying to go #strawless!!

Restaurants still need to produce plastic lids for their takeout customers, but what if they didn't have to buy straws anymore, and people got used to drinking fountain drinks using lids like they do for hot beverages?
