McDonald's Jolimont recently replaced its large pylon sign with an enormous pylon sign. Jolimont residents believe this is contrary to local planning guidelines as it is not "compatible with the character of the locality and the general nature of land use in the area". Jolimont is about old wooden cottages, quiet streets lined with lovely tress, and beautiful parkland.

We want the sign taken down and replaced by a sign that meets Subiaco planning guidelines.

Original sign dimensions 3.64m wide by 3.58 metres high, overall height 15m.

New sign dimensions 5.52m wide by 4.57m high, overall height 20m.

Most Maccas signs are under 5m high.

These dimensions are more in keeping with a freeway petrol station or a Las Vegas casino, not a tiny residential suburb with a primary school.

Please McDonald's, live up to your Mission Statement and be a "positive presence in your community" by listening to residents and taking down this enormous sign.
