Hello everyone, I hope this update finds you well. A few months ago I reported the great news that the Port was moving forward with 113 miles of fiber in the county. Last night I found out that their first major trunks are scheduled to be run to Kendall shortly. I'm also happy to say that the County government itself has stepped up and provided some support. Although the PUD provided some funding for the study, they have not take much action beyond that. With the exception of commissioner Deshmane, who is 100% on board for public fiber, they seem to have an inaccurate belief that there is not public support for the PUD to be involved in this venture.
