Reconsider the "Ordinance to Restrict Public Feeding"

Reconsider the "Ordinance to Restrict Public Feeding"
The Issue
Instead of this ordinance, why not enforce anti-litter laws that are already on the books? Why not encourage the respectable use of public property, instead of restricting the access to it? Meet us in an open dialogue to see how we may help one another. The problems Birmingham faces will not be solved by pushing them out of sight or kicking them down the road. Now is not the time for an adhesive bandage; what's needed is a comprehensive plan that will see to it that the historically disenfranchised lower class is given the tools necessary to live worthwhile and meaningful life with some level of security and respect. Nothing good can come from alienating people who feel as though they are already on the wrong side of the income gap. Think of Birminghams legacy, its dual legacy. There's Birmingham that used firemen and police dogs to silence “2nd class” citizens and Birmingham that struggled to assert that everyone has the right to integrate, to co-exist. Which Birmingham do you want to live in? Discrimination against any group of people is an offence to all people.
